Roger Alan Cotton is an award-winning playwright, performer, and educator with over 25 years of college-level teaching experience in Acting, Musical Theatre, Dramatic Writing, Game Design, and 3D Game Art & Animation. A professional actor for 12 years, he has performed in more than 30 stage productions in Los Angeles and San Diego.

Roger holds a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from UCLA, and an Associate of Arts in Theatre from MiraCosta College. He is a four-time award-winning playwright recognized through UCLA’s competitive playwriting program.

Roger also studied Libretto-writing and Lyric-writing at the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Workshop in Hollywood.

In addition to his theatre work, Roger brings 32 years of experience in the interactive entertainment industry as a professional game designer and three years in graphic design and branding. 

Through Dramaturgical Alchemy, based in Prescott Valley, Roger combines his expertise in storytelling, performance, and design to help students of all ages explore the creative process of writing for the stage and screen.
